As I lay here down by the river
this is where I pour out all my woes
And casting my hate away like stones
into this stream of tranquility
As I lay my head down by the water’s edge
here is where I sing out all
my sorrows and woes
By this ageless shore line
many wars have been waged
through the ages
souls of men sent flowing
down the water’s wings
here to Elysium
to forever dwell
What would they say?
if my life would end today
this morbid conversation
within one’s mind
contemplates that legacy
one leaves behind
what would go through their minds?
What should we say?
What can we say?
Why should we say anything at all?…
day by day
I still continue to ponder
what would they say?
But finally!
I come to the conculsion
that when my life
has come to an end
I would have given them
the words to say
by my actions
of previous days
Dismantlement of the soul
gears of compassion, tenderness, and selflessness
cease to turn rusted over time
by layers of empty compassion
from point A to B
what once dwelled
within your flesh
has now ceased to be
a crown of deception
graciously dwells upon your head
comfortably you rest on
a throne forged of broken dreams
drinking wine fresh from the vats
here you dwell clothed
in the deepest of grays
but friend you too
will become brittle and broken
one day
so enjoy
today’s triumph
and prepare for
tomorrow’s tragedies
In the last nights
a transformation
will begin from within
upon the first night
your senses will
rust and dull
your soul lies
deprieved of the
narcotics of life
no longer addicted to
those poisons
the second night arrived
blindlessely searching
your soul looks for fortune
like a blind beggar
only finding comfort in purity
alas the third night comes
and by way of the wind
they send you comfort
finally you’re united at last
for this journey
has came to a close
